VPS + Security + Provider + Help

So this is the thing.

I need to host a web page (no shared hosting). It must be on a VPS with 512MB - 1GB RAM, 15GB - 20GB HDD/SSD, 1 - 2CPU/Core.

But it must be secure (of course verything ca be hacked) but it must be good uptime (offered by the provider).

The web page only static files (wordpress or ghost in a future).

For security: DDoS or DoS protection sure.

I was thinking on:

1. 
   

   Go for a LET like securedragon, buyvm, ramnode or other and just be happy.

   
   


2. 
   

   Go for digitalocean, vultr or other and worry about security thinking how to make it secure..

   
   

What can you recomend ?

BTW The period of time is for 2 years and the money is $300.
