I checked it after get up, VPS was suspended because of unpaid, I was confused, there was no invoice mail in my mailbox, so I send a ticket to the provider--I'll call them [S] in the the remaining part of the story.
(It won't have any problem if [S] make invoice 7 days before period like other providers, sadly invoice GENERATE ON: 26, and the DUE DATE is 27. It won't have any problem if I received Invoice Created mail or Unpaid reminder mail, sadly I didn't receive any of them. )
After I submit this ticket, I got the reminder mail again. Yeah it's working again like it should be.
Later I sumit a new ticket to their billing apartment as request.
I showed screenshots from my side, no email, no delete records, not in the trash. [S] looks like just want to close the ticket if I don't clear the invoice, so I paid the invoice. [S] don't use a third part mail solution, so [S] should have a mail log. But [S] said they could not show the log after I paid, then my vps was deleted after that, not even ask me.

So I recently got a OVH server with 256 IPs. I have many websites spread over many different servers. I'm thinking of migrating all those websites to my OVH server, each using its own IP (and SSL if available).
My problem is, some of those sites are linking to each other, and it's known that it can hurt your SEO and google can punish the rank of the websites that are on the same server if they are found to be linking to each other.
From a technical point of view, how much info can someone know. The IPs are not in the same range, they quite vary well (192.xxx.xxx.xxx, 198.xxx.xxx.xxx, etc...). But my question is can someone tell they are on the same physical server? Maybe from the server's hostname?

You have 2 servers, dedicated or VPS's spread around the globe. Or at least not in the same datacenter. What is your solution of having literally no downtime during hard times?
It is frustrating to experience downtime for personal servers and up to extreme annoyance for production servers. Your hints or actual setups will be greatly appreciated.

What it'd take is literally accepting components per delivery and putting them into the assembling machine as instructed which will do the rest of all the work.

ownCloud is a free and open-source web application (Dropbox like solution) for data synchronization that: provides universal access to your files via the web, your computer, or your mobile devices — wherever you are.
In this tutorial I will describe how to install ownCloud on Ubuntu 14.04.
To be able to run OwnCloud 7 you need to have Apache web server, MySQL database server and PHP installed on your Ubuntu 14.04.
First of all log in to your server as root and make sure that all packages are up to date:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
If you already did not install the Apache web server on your Ubuntu 14.04 it is the right time to do that now:
apt-get install apache2
Next, install PHP on your server:
apt-get install php5 php5-mysql
and once the installation is done add the following PHP modules required by OwnCloud:
apt-get install php5-gd php5-json php5-curl php5-intl php5-mcrypt php5-imagick
Restart apache for the changes to take effecrs:
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart
Install MySQL database server:
apt-get install mysql-server
and once the installation is done run the ‘mysql_secure_installation‘ command and use the following settings:
Set root password? [Y/n] y
Remove anonymous users? [Y/n] y
Disallow root login remotely? [Y/n] y
Remove test database and access to it? [Y/n] y
Reload privilege tables now? [Y/n] y
Now everything is ready so we can begin with the installation. First we will need to download the latest stable release of OwnCloud on your server (at the time version 7.0.0).

We will need to create a MySQL user and database for OwnCloudGive and also give a full privileges to the MySQL user on the database.

And once you are inside the MySQL console type the following commands:

Don't forget to change "SOMEPASSWORD" with your own password.
Once this is done you can open http://ift.tt/1s6bIql in your browser where you will be presented with the configuration screen of ownClod and be able to create a new administrator user and enter the information of the MySQL database we created earlier in this tutorial.
That's it. Once you click on "Finish setup" you will be presented with the ownCloud welcome screen.

Hi all I am not using my SolusVM license for commercial purposes as of today but still wanted noVNC so I did as explained in SolusVM documentation but still got error # 1006 pop out everytime I tried to run it. Now someone told me to install a valid SSL on slaves(SSL is already installed on SolusVM master). Currently the noVNC socket location is set to "Host Node" as well.
So, is it true that I need to have SSL installed on slaves in order to make noVNC work?

E.g. i have a /29 block which is 23.95.xx.240/29, so that 23.95.xx.241 is my gateway & 23.95.xx.242 is one which is configured to proxmox. I'm looking for a KVM VPS to host a few services in a VPN (~5-10 clients).
It should be located in the EU, because the clients will connect mostly from there. Preferable NL, but I am flexible on that. The services to run are the following:
The services will be used from just 5-10 personally known clients. No public service.
I need a KVM because I want to put dropbear into the initramfs, thus I can encrypt the whole volume and unlock it on boot (I know they could freeze the memory to get the passphrases, but it's not to get perfect security or to hide any illegal content, it's just to make a little obstacle against any human curiosity).
Maybe also a small mumble server for the same amount of clients, but I am unsure how much processing power is needed for this.
Since I am unsure how much memory/processing power all these services in conjunction will consume, I am open for your proposals. Traffic beginning at 1 TB should be good, storage is not very important, anything > 20 GB.

It's been a bit too long since my last post. I've been getting freaking stellar feedback from the folks here, I'm hoping that will continue. I read recently that folks in the USA on VERIZON FIBER OPTIC connections can't use netflix. Simply not okay.
This is going to be a quick & dirty style, I'm not much of a pro with code, but pretty good at using it in new and interesting ways, and getting better at writing / interpreting it every day.
The topology of the Internet has always been its saving grace. I'm genuinely concerned that at this point it is getting a bit too centralized. I've 3 ideas that should help to counter this:
1) P2P VPN(Implementation details to follow-- trying all current implementations, if you're aware of a P2P VPN, please do reply with its name, because I'd like to test it out.
2) A "router/server" that spawns VPNs from VPSes & works on finding the best route (and in some use-cases, learns the best route from the P2P network)
3) An inverse cloud of personal servers; one per dwelling would be ideal. I think that this is the most significant concept here.
Instead of this: "everyone needs to put their things into the corporate, information analyzed, spied-on cloud in order to enjoy the collaboration benefits of cloud tech"
We do this: "everyone can self-host cloud apps and know that their content is backed up, encrypted, on other people's disks-- or not, at their discretion, and they can still collaborate, because nodes use a defined protocol for interoperability, and the devs of the world get an incredible new toy."
I love the features of the cloud, and I also love the control/security of knowing that regardless of a company's balance sheet or a government's competition policy, I'll be able to access my files.
So:
Yes, still doing the self-spawning insta-VPN based on VPSes. Curious if there are independent hosts out there that have implemented Pay Per Hour & digitalocean style node spawning features. If no one has, I have an inkling it may be a good time to figure out how to do so.

9) [Bug Fix] Rebuild VPS was failing if VPS size is smaller than the template size. This is only in Xen PV and if the disk space was less than the template size.
10) [Task] Reseller Regions Alias added for Server Groups.
11) [Task] IPv6 Nameservers easy link has been added to Add and Edit IP Pools.

Starting a new test project with backup stuff, so I'm looking for storage VPSs. 4 total, ideally each from a different provider. Geographic location isn't important. KVM gets my preference if all else is equal, but ultimately any hypervisor is fine.
Don't need much CPU or ram.
What I do need is a lot of disk space... 512GB at least. If 1tb+ is possible at LEB prices that would be great. Enough bandwidth/transfer to make use of that space. Debian minimal as an OS option.

I have recently purchased a domain that has 50 Google Apps users. I reset admin info by CName records. After login there was a msg stating "You account was suspended due to billing reasons" means the previous user did not pay the dues.
On checking the user limit by FEEDBACK method I found that the account was created in 2011.
I clicked on Cancel in billing, it gave me 2 options; 1- Downgrade to Standard(free) Edition. 2- Delete Account
I select downgrade, accepted the free edition terms and my account was become Free. I can Setup Email or whatever is free with Gapps.
Now the only question is, is this safe to have downgraded (to free which was free before the previous user upgraded and didn't pay the dues) account or will Google again suspend that account?

Hi, in my experience in the past with cPanel, after pointing my nameservers to my cPanel host, I can completely control my domain via cPanel. Now with Zpanel, I've installed zPanel on my VPS, so I don't have nameservers, only a IP. I followed the zPanel instructions and created this records on my domain registrar but whenever I make changes to the domain within zPanel, they never properly save. For example, earlier I attempted to create a sub-domain of billing.mydomain.com, and made a cname record for it too, but it never resolved. After talking with zPanel support, they told me "the registrar always needs to know where to point the domains you have registrered through them
even with cPanel you still have to have it pointed correctly at the registrar" . So, I created the record within my registrar and it worked. I'm starting to assume that this is because I don't have nameservers and merely pointed my IP to my Zpanel installation. So is it not possible for me to control the domain via zPanel because of this?

The new update for solusvm includes noVNC but I need to allow a port exception to my firewall? How do open port 8000 so that noVNC will work. I'm on centos with an openvz master and a kvm slave. Thanks!

I didn't want to make a whole new thread for this but maybe this is the best way.
I'm in need of a server that needs to handle altcoin wallets (not mining, just the wallets) and a web server running more or less 20 sites.
In my calculations I'll need 3-4GB RAM (if you think I need more or this is an overkill, please tell me, I'm open to suggestions), 1 IPv4, IPv6 not required, at least 500GB of bandwidth (just to make sure it won't run out, even on spikes), and a good CPU because of the altcoin wallets.
It can be a VPS or a Dedicated Server. Europe or United States. Budget $20 p/month, can pay quarterly.
If anyone could give some advice of the best provider, I would be very grateful! :)
