Anyone kind enough to give me an invite? PM me please! Thanks!
Hey guys,
So I'm working on a project and I need a list of cloud providers with hourly billing for it's development.
Here is my current list.
If any provider offers hourly billing and an API, please list them here. Keep them at a reasonable price, and not AWS. :-)
If there is anyone offering a "hourly dedicated server" service similar to what Incero Instant used to be, that would be amazing.
Thanks!
Minimum 200GB HDD, 512MB RAM, dedicated IP, any CPU, any Location. Post your offer with bandwidth included and yearly pricing.
Anyone have access to a server with 10gbps port that I can run iperf test against with? I am having trouble finding something to test our new 10gbps uplink with..
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
Has anyone been able to setup SoftEther to support multiple IPv4 IPs on a single VPS? If so, how would one set this up?
What do you do with your VPS?
I have a bunch of servers that I use for the following stuff; Hosting websites, running TS server, running a CSGO Minigames server, VPN's, File Storage.

So I have a Dedicated Server with about 400 or so gigabytes, which is downloadable on a plain html directory listing, which is uploadable only by me. Then I have another site with about 300Gb or so which is a upload/downloader script. Xfilesharing.
I just keep getting extreme slow downs, Ive had to move my plain Wordpress sites off to another shared host due to this, And usually a reboot of the server will resolve the issue for a little while.
My server is in France through Oneprovider which gets it from Online.net I`m thinking either Disk I/O or its the script causing issues or something is not configed properly, I never had this on a VPS I had last year (before August)

Hello,
If a reverse proxy without DDoS protection is masking a DDoS protected server or a Cloudlfare enable server does the ddos protection still function well?
Andrei
Hello! Looking for Windows VPS requirements:
-1-2GB ram and 1-2 Core CPU with decent CPU frequency
-SSD is more preferable but HDD is also good
-Cheap price -Daily/Weekly or even hourly based payment scheme would be good but if the price is affordable then monthly is good also
-I really need changeable IP addresses for free or for maximum 1-2$ this is important since I probably will change the IP's frequently also have to make sure I do not get the same IP ever or if the payment scheme is lets say daily then if I make a new VPS I will get new IP's.
-It has to be in Europe
Looking forward for long term business I will use several VPS like tens if it will work for my project but if it do not pass my requirements please do not post! Thanks!
Hi,
I finally decided to transfer to So you Start. I love their phone and email support. They are so eager to help.
but...
I would like to confirm something regarding the additional failover IPs. I'm planning to cancel all of my VPS (servers) and just use one server which is either SYS-IP-1 or SYS-IP-2. I'm planning to install something that will allow me to have the KVM thingy. I don't know, I guess that's Proxmox. So, I would be creating 2-3 KVM-based servers. The first one is for my personal website. The second one is for hosting Wordpress-based websites of my friends and the third one is going to be my file backup/storage server, replacing my MediaFire account.
So for the websites, I badly need 2 U.S-based IPs since most of the visitors are from the U.S. Do you think they have a U.S-based additional IP failover? And can I use them in the KVM stuff that I'll be doing?
I've talked with OVH (North America, Ireland and UK) and So you Start (Canada, Ireland). They said that the U.S IPs are not available when the server that you ordered is located in Europe. It is only available in the North American data center, which is in Canada.
I've been waiting for more than 48 hours straight for the availability of servers in Canada and up until now, nothing is available.
Another thing, my So you Start account was created in So you Start Ireland.
Thanks.
As part of my PhD research, my coauthor and I are investigating cloud brokerage. Cloud brokerage involves automatically moving applications from one VM to another to optimise performance and cost. We have recently had work on migrating applications accepted for publication. Our next stage is to build and run experiments on a full cloud broker, where the system knows where and when to do the scaling itself. Our goal is to publish a "visionary" paper for cloud brokerage as a whole and then to go into certain parts in more detail. This is likely to be a long-term study.
If you like cloud and want to try something new, please give us your email address so that we can contact you in a few weeks when we're ready. You don't have to pay anything and you might save money on your cloud servers.
I have been looking at filtering HTTP/S traffic on the LAN here via proxy, ideally via an appliance, but I cannot seem to find anything that is GPL/Free.. I would like to filter/report etc.
Anyone here have a solution?
The first step includes finding for a server on a minecraft server website. Then once we read the description provided, we choose the one we like. These are very easy to download. Start the application, and hit on add server. Once you hit on this, it entails us to fill in our name and IP address, where the name does not really matter and so can be filled as anything that fascinates us, and you have your server name on the list. A few general recommendations include: Setting up a server normally takes time and this requires some technical knowledge. It is wise to not set this up unless we have basic knowledge about computers and networking.
OVH now has L7 DDoS protection for VAC. This was a much requested feature & look like it is ready to be included now.
Google translates those 2 tweets in the image above as:
And there will be a surprise .. :)
With Anti-DDoS L7 TCP / UDP for each game in bi-directional mode 24/24 enabled and included in the price.

As some has seen in other threads, I got me a Hetzner Intel Core i7-3770, 32 GB RAM, 2 x 3 TB server via serverbidding yesterday. When I check S.M.A.R.T I can see that the disk (an most likely the server) has been online for around 650 days. They are using Toshiba drives.
Is this much for a server? Personally I have disks that has been on for over 2000 days on one of my home servers (just replaced now) and there has been no issues at all. My experience is that if a disk fails, it fails within a year, if not, it almost never fails. (I have around 30 disks running 24/7/365 at home).
What do you think? Whats normal for second hand servers? I can see at on my Kimsufi KS-3 server the disk has only been on for 66 days now. So most likely the server is just 66 days old, or they have replaced the disk.
When I try to cancel my Kimsufi K-3 server, I only get this when I try to create a ticket:
I have tried their forum, but no reply. How do people cancel their servers @ Kimsufi or contact support? The ticket issue has been there for some days now.

I learned how to host my own wordpress sites with Virtualmin on VPSs, and also learned alot about Linux. I still don't know very much, but I do enjoy using the Internet. I see people here talking about buying very small LEBs 128MB/256MB to do things like run DNS servers, proxy servers and VPNs. I'm not interested in gaming, but do like watching movies and tv shows. I would like to learn more. I currently have one spare 128mb VPS and am wondering what project I could undertake to learn something more? Any suggestions, and ones with links to tutorials appreciated. I've mostly worked with Centos, but have one Debian Mailbox and I did run a Gentoo server for a while.
Hey,
so I followed buyvm's tutorial for routing traffic over a gre tunnel (http://ift.tt/1cFIBUu) and it works fine for tcp ports, but I was unsuccessful in routing udp traffic. There is a part in the tutorial which shouldn't work for udp, as it forwards all traffic with certain states and udp is stateless.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to forward udp traffic using a gre tunnel.
Any advise is appreciated.

I want to discuss data security/access from outside in OpenVZ containers.
Can the node admin access data that is inside a container? Is there any way to prevent this? Can the admin spy on data in ram from the container or is it encrypted (by OpenVZ) ?
Mounting an encrypted FS container is not really ideal because it has to be mounted manually after each restart, or is there a way to automount without storing the PW locally?
Any advise to secure / encrypt data is welcome.

Hi
To provide hosting (cpanel), they recommend?
Option 1: Dedicated server (with raid1)
Option 2: Several vps (KVM)
The number of accounts that I have cpanel are currently about 600.
Points to consider are:
Provide good performance Quick recovery in case of failure
Stay tuned for their opinions
Hello,
I have an Ubuntu VPS instance that I can SSH tunneling to it. I can use root or a new user that I create for that purpose. But what if I want to create a separate user for my friend to use. For sure I wouldn't hand him root or any normal user account so that he could mess my VPS up (intentionally or not).
I want to make that user restricted to only SSH tunneling service without any other privileges. It's better if he just connect and cannot run any command and just log off when finish using it. What's the best or easiest way to achieve this?
Thanks!
What do you do with your VPS?
I have a bunch of servers that I use for the following stuff; Hosting websites, running TS server, running a CSGO Minigames server, VPN's, File Storage.
I sometimes see VPS providers listing "Swap" (NOT vSwap) in their offer.
What kind of "Swap" is this and how is it different from just making/mounting a swapfile myself?
I have one adult domain.Where is the best place to sell adult domain.
Since i take some long to get a ticket response from this guy, i hope i can get an answer here @Goodhosting.
On january 19 the system sent me the invoice for the next month and i promptly paid for it. For some reason i still got my service interrupted as it says i didnt pay the invoice. I asked you by a support ticket and i got a generic answer
Hello, As posted on our Twitter; an Update is available on this issue: To clients in CHI-1: Open a Support Ticket, and we will give you an account on CHI-2 to make your new instance in, to get you online faster! If you are already on CHI-2, simply please re-create your instance using OpenNebula. See: http://ift.tt/1A6rx71 >
Can you kindly check my case insted of sending generic msg, what if my vps is not on the affected node?, i also replay you back this
Can you please tell me whats going on?, please create the account on whatever server it's, and help me get my windows vps online fast. i got bunch of work to do.> and i havent receive an answer yet, i got bunch of work to do and is being 10 day since my vps is off.
this is the support ticket #OVC-4926-CWU i opened.
Hello,
Well I have used Webmin/Virtualmin myself many times in the past. Never used webuzo myself. However, I am setting up a server for a friend of mine who is looking for a free panel to manage usual tasks. Since he is going to use (LNMP) and Virtualmin doesn't seem to have native support for Nginx, I am considering Webuzo.
Anyone here using it??? How is that compare to Webmin/Virtualmin? I know it's not free but it's certainly cheaper than cP /Plesk / DA. Or you think using Virtaulmin will be better / fine. (They have a work around for nginx in the forum)
Thanks
Anybody offering a Low End VPS for a Low End price in HK?
Well I know these have been out for a rather lengthy while. But i recently went on a hosting website and saw they had 3 core AMD processors, and this 8 core intel atom: http://ift.tt/1JNc2CF
What on earth... Intel actually made an 8 core ATOM? That's got the same amount of cores as my I7-5960X!

Hey everyone
Just asking out of interest, does any european hoster actually offer SWIP for a /32 address to a RIPE ORG? I've read about that in combination with ARIN, but in regards of RIPE, I've only found a few hosters offering adding your RIPE PERSON. Now I was getting curious, is such a thing technically even possible with RIPE? Haven't been able to find anything about that at RIPEs page.
Regards NeoXiD
I need to reduce overhead in debian. The system specifications cannot be the problem for I have the (current) best processor for single thread performance (I7-4790K) in this dedicated server. 32GB DDR3 2600MHz (overclocked) ram and it still lags like a dying duck.
Anyone willing to offer a hand with reducing the lag on this thing? It's on SSDs to. I have optimised /etc/fstab.
I have a dedicated server with centos, it has 2 hard disks each of 3TB space, now i host a filehosting website on this server. my 1st disk of 3TB is now full and i want to link the 2nd 3TB disk to the path were files are stored by filehosting site script : /home/admin/public_html/files/, please guide me how to do this, i dont want to do anything stupid and loose my 3TB uploaded files just like that.
Hello. Am running a Voip software and it uses 90-110GB bandwidth per day! You think ill not get suspended in a unlimited vps deal?
Looking to rent-out my last spare one, feel free to PM if you're interested.
Specs as you may already know:
VIA Nano U2250 CPU
2 GB RAM
160 GB disk
1 Gbit network connection
Additionally you get a 100GB FTP backup account, so it's about ~260GB of storage in total (with the server itself).
As for the price I'm looking for 12.8 EUR/quarter in Paypal;
alternatively you can pay in Bitcoin, Dogecoin or Darkcoin, and as a bonus get a small 5% discount.
You will need to have an Online.net account, via the "outsourcing" feature the server will appear there and you'll be able to monitor/reinstall it, or create tickets to Online.net in case of any problems.
Of course you need to respect the Online.net ToS and abuse reports received from them against the rented server will likely result in termination w/no refund.
Hello, I am trying to learn stuff. How do we know the number of VPS a server will handle considering its config? Can you give me any rough examples of the server config that are popular for openvz installation please?
Thanks!
Sorry for my many questions thees days, but I have a little project, so I need help from this fine forum.
I have got my Hetzner server up and running with Windows Server R2 (I know most of you hate Windows, but I like it on this project. Using Linux on all other VPS servers I have) Got three extra IP's from Hetzner, so I have four all together. One for the main server, and three I planning to use on my VMs.
I have then created a Windows Server VM with Hyper-V. There I have manually typed in one of the extra IPs with subnetmask and gateway + I have tried 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS and I have tried the three DNS servers Hetzner uses on my main server. Still, the VM has no internet connection.
The network card on my main server is running as DHCP, is this the issue? Shall I change this to static IP (using the main IP) and then add the three extra IPs on my main network card?
Or is it any settings in Hyper-V I have to do?
I also have the option the create own MACs for each extra IP, is that something I should do?

Hi Everyone, Calling out the DBAs and Experienced SysAdmins here for some suggestions. In Continuation to my thread here Suggest: VPS for 6.5GB Database/Php app - High availability , I'm preparing further actions. The client has given me a sample DB set so I can see if there is a scope of improvement and squeezing its size.
This Set is **4.1GB **imported as seen in PHPMyadmin (PMA).
I'm naive on DB Administration, I did the basic things I knew and read about:
- mysqlcheck --all-databases
- mysqlcheck --all-databases -o
- mysqlcheck --all-databases --auto-repair -u root -p
- mysqlcheck --all-databases --analyze -u root -p
But the database size remains intact at 4.1GB though I was expecting it to drop a little bit. Does this mean the tables are OK already?
Take a look at the DB here:
Importantly... I noticed this Database uses mixed MyISAM & InnoDB tables, which was quite a frequent practice (atleast 3-4 years back). Is it OK to use them?. If you see the top four tables that are the bulkiest, one is inno, next one myISAM, and alternating.
member_data-> InnoDB-> 1 GiB
zabby_rolo-> MyISAM-> 900 MiB
treeloger_orders-> InnoDB-> 549.2 MiB
bs_newsletters_view-> MyISAM-> 467.7 MiB
...
My question is, should such tables be all innodb? will it give me good throughput?
P.S. the production server will run Mariadb 5.5 or Percona 5.5 The FrontEnd is a CakePHP 1.x App
Can you suggest any tools I can use to further analyze tables and chop out any unnecessary bulk out of them ? It'd help me as I plan to replicate it at 30 mins delay with a secondary fail over server across a different DC.
Any other valuable suggestions are duly welcome...
Thanks for reading this length... Looking forward for your answers...!
I am looking for a dedicated server to learn server management stuff and looking for a trial or a dedicated server for a very low cost
In 2 days, 9 messages about my "low credit" in my account from Domflow! I have almost 4 euros, an amount that can last 2 more months, but since Tusday Domflow is sending a mail every 6-8 hours to... remind me about the low credit!
looking for a high speed connection vps , dont care about the cpu much , with 8 gb rams , windows 2008 / 2012 required with good price and the most important thing is that the provider have to accept credit card payments i dont have paypal
Hello Im Currently looking for dedicated servers to start a global streaming platform. servers in +20 countires I need E5-2690v2 or E5-2630v2 in each location with minimum 384GB RAM DDR3 Any recommendation for Brazil?I have softlayer & voxility for Europe/US locations. i need good latency.
Thank you
I'm really gunning for having all my media available wherever I am, so to that end I'm looking for a server with enough CPU grunt to handle transcoding 3-5 streams of 720p video simultaneously; does anyone have any recommendations based on experience?
I'm intending to use Plex as the media server, if that makes a difference.
standby for the hate mail - I understand the 'mission' of this website - specifically to share information about the low end vps and dedicated servers available - great / fantastic - not everyone in the world is brain dead from the neck up and paying the likes of RckSpce for fanatical support - however the inane rubbish and general cr*p posted on most of these posts - would suggest that you need to have another site specifically for LowEndUserTalk , somewhere for all those that don't read the posts , make stupid comments and generally have not got a clue - can go and waste their days
ok start the hate counter now
Just wanted to test some dedicated servers this month. Long time since last time, around 10 years. I got my Kimsufi KS-3 Core™ i5-750 4c / 4t 2.67 GHz+ 16 GB RAM 2 TB 100 Mbps (rated at 3740 ) for €14.99/mo and I found this excellent guide to how to install Windows on it.
Today I got a Hetzner Intel Core i7-2600 4c/8t, 16 GB RAM, 2x HDD 3,0 TB SATA with 1gbit "unlimited" BW (max 20 TB/month then 10mbit speed the rest of the time). This server is rated at 8307, over twice the power then the Kimsufi server, with 3 times more disk, and 1gbit connection and not 100mbit as at Kimsufi. The price €27/mo - no setup fee.
But here I can't find any guide to how to install my own .iso file with Windows Server. Beside paying them €21 to use their LARA system.
I also see that I can get a Intel Core i7-3770, 32 GB RAM, 2 x 3 TB server for just €6/mo more at Hetzner (€33/mo) (rated at 9445)
Any way to install Windows on Hetzner beside paying them for LARA? And beside that, what deal is best of the KS-3 and Core i7-2600 (or Core i7-3770). Most bang for my money.. :D
Thinking about funding this with closing down a VPS or two, still keep my main servers at iwStack, but closing down a couple of other servers, and use the dedicated server for several tasks.
I have several email accounts on my domain, and I would like to migrate some email accounts to Google Apps. However, moving all the accounts would get really expensive, so I'd like to move only 3 email accounts to Google Apps, and keep the other email accounts on my cPanel server which is where all accounts are currently.
Is this possible? If yes, how can I do it?
Thanks
Do DigitalOcean credits expire? I have some in my account, thinking about saving them for next year or so.
Thanks!

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew of hourly Windows desktop VPSes, bonus points for having Office as an option. I've seen some monthly plans out there, but they're all pretty expensive - more than Windows Server VPSes!
Thanks!

Anybody offering a Low End VPS for a Low End price in HK?
Hello,
I'm new to VPS (and Ubuntu too) and have purchased several plans. Here are the questions.
I know that VPS owners wouldn't love it if customers use too much CPU for an instance. But it's important to us to know if we're under-utilizing or over-utilizing the resource.
Just saw this on facebook

Hi,
I finally decided to transfer to So you Start.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
I'm learning how to setup KVM nodes with solusvm. With this being said, I'm able to boot the KVM VPS, create it, etc, but I'm unable to use the TDN templates from solusvm.
I've already downloaded 2 templates: 1 windows, 1 linux.
I've downloaded both of them to /home/solusvm/kvm/template
I've added them on solusvm as the tdn specifies (swap partition, root password, etc).
When reinstalling, the node doesn't do anything with these templates. I was expecting a sudden increase of I/O requests and cpu usage but it's not doing anything.
I also thought that I would need to decompress the templates, but I'm not getting the correct compression or the image isn't compressed at all, since I'm getting errors like:
tar: This does not look like a tar archive gunzip: linux-centos-5.9-x86_64-min-gen2-v2.gz: not in gzip format
Can anyone point me out to the right direction? Do I need to decompress them or not? Is there something that I might be missing?
Thanks!
Hello,
I am considering a server from SoYouStart. However, I am wondering how fast the internet speed is. At Swiftway, I have 100 Mbps. How does that work for SoYouStart? Are there any customers that can show me their results?
Thanks, Dennis
I am looking for a simple hosting located at europe. I will host a very basic text based CMS portfolio site. I only need php. Do you guys recommend me some decent providers with annual plans please?
Thanks.

Hi all,
For my new project, I was wondering how you would define the zones around the world from where you would like to know the latency to your server.
I was thinking about: East North America, West North America, South America, East Europe, West Europe, North Asia (Russia), South West Asia, South East Asia, East Asia (South Korea, Japan), Australia, Africa, Greenland
Should I define them more/less detailed ?
If I can save somebody else the time - ( I have no doubt this will be refuted but with 20+ yrs IT and numerous corporate servers running IpV4 & IpV6 - I know how to run sercure stable boxes - before the dis'ing comes )
InetWebHost - Dedicated Servers in Frankfurt Germany - seemed cheap - unlimited in Frankfurt .. Gentlemen - there is no such things as a cheap second hand Mercedes and this similar is one in similar category
It looks 'German' but the service and support is not .. Obviously there are those that are happy to live with problems going unanswered for days and replies that show a lack of understanding or not reading the ticket .. I ask you 3 days in an investigation on a live server ! - The only things that got quick response was the paypal claim - and then they are quoting their 10days money back ..
The only thing in Frankfurt is the hardware ! - find a server where the techies are by the boxes ..
No I will not reply to this or answer with who now , draw your own conclusions from my experiencies .. and do not waste and money time like I did - now we wait for the dis' ing !

I ordered a new vps on January 23rd and the service provisioned just today, 6 days later. The next billing date is on February 23rd. This is not the only privider with such behavior. Don't you think that providers should start billing when they deliver a service and not before that, or, at least, extend service for the period that it wasn't ready? (For the records, thiw case is about CVPS and I already opened a ticket requesting an extension of the billing period and waiting how will they handle it, but I think that they should do it automatically).

Just a heads up for fellow LETers who are using Cloudflare DNS Failover with Monit (http://ift.tt/1uCllNd). A few days ago the "DIUP" API method was finally removed from the Cloudflare API (after being deprecated for a few years and no longer exist in the API docs). It now results in error "E_INVLDINPUT".
If you have scripts that use "DIUP", you may want to update them to use the new API method "rec_edit". A blog post by Kevin O'Connor outlines the steps:
http://ift.tt/1v63TGt
I was wondering if anyone else has problems with GoodHosting? On January 25, I was told that: "We are aware of an issue relating to I/O errors being displayed on cx13. cx14 and cx15 . We are working on a solution as we speak!"
We are now approaching January 29 and I've been without my servers for 4 days. They are not responding to my phone calls, emails, tickets or anything. And as I type this, the servers are still down.
Has anyone managed to get in touch with them or got any updates from them about when the problem will be fixed?

Does anyone know whether Google (i.e. Gmail, Google+ YouTube) and/or other social newtorks such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. are blocking Twilio local phone numbers for the purpose of account verification? We have integrated Twilio into one of our business applications and now need to setup and manage multiple Google+, YouTube, etc. accounts. Several steps or processes require phone verification (i.e. setting up a new YouTube channel; enabling the use of custom thumbnails, etc.) and we have been unable to get our Twilio numbers to receive either voice calls or SMS (we know that Google dos not support short codes) from Google. We have been going around in circles with the Twilio support folks and have now been told to contact Google support.
Are there any other working alternatives for phone verification from these services to Twilio (i.e. Plivo). Thanks!
