Seriously.
Their panel was nice looking and functional. Many features and then they switched to Ubersmith. I can't find any info (not even my server's IP address), can't manage the VPS at all.
I seriously can't understand why they did this move.
Is anyone else pissed with this?
Hi, I am wanting to know who is the best license reseller out there. LicensePal and LicenseCube are decent.. I am needing a SolusVM license and I am wondering If I should go with some reseller or just buy it at solusvm.com.
I have tried LicensePal, they provide licenses. But Support isn't great, and I can't find anywhere to order additional slave licenses(I might be just being stupid and not look around much). Submitted a ticket few hours ago.
I am looking forward to buy more licenses, such as cPanel+Add-ons and etc etc.
Any recommendations or "get yo hands off of LicensePal"?
Thanks.
http://ift.tt/1uXWuDX This is confusing.
I am planning to host a Master(control panel) on a separate VPS and have multiple Slave(Nodes/Boxes). What do I have to get? This is very confusing.
Do I get 1 Master Enterprise and several slaves(addon) or Several slave-only Enterprise license? The more I look at the page, I get more confused.
Gogent?
It doesn't exist as per bgp.he.net: http://ift.tt/1rFjOYi
Is it just cogent? As I am purely confused by @jbiloh:

Never heard of such network, but thought I would ask.

Hello,
I'm looking for a budget dedicated server provider that has DDoS protection (BlackLotus) around the price that Versaweb sells their servers (and before you ask why don't you buy it from them, they don't accept unverified paypal).
Main aspects: E3, SSD Server. Thank you.

I've never been so frustrated as I am now, with the same setup I was having a good time until past couple of months. New SSIDs showed up thrashing the channel and since I am into online gaming, latency is really crucial.
I have no idea why my macbook goes into frenzy and doesn't want to connect to my home network even if it did, it will be super slow (channel 1) or amazing fast. I now temporarily switched to channel 11 so that I could use the internet to seek help.
So is there a way without going for a 5Ghz router?
PS: My android was able to connect and browse without a hitch on channel 1.

Thought someone here might be able to help me with this?

The solution i believe is literally couple of lines, but my knowledge of htaccess does not extend far enough to figure it out.

Hi Folks,
Surprised this has not come up here yet so thought I would kick it off, from what I have seen WHMCS will take care of the point of sale VAT rate so that is really of no concern but the fall out is going to be interesting, I suspect UK based hosts that are used to enjoying the very high threshold (such as myself) will be hit hardest with this.
For those that don't know about the 2015 VAT changes I will try to tl;dr it for you.
As of January 2015 if you are selling digital good or services within the EU (regardless of your origin) you must charge VAT at the local rate of the buyer i.e. if you customer is in Italy you charge VAT at the rate for Italy, this applies to businesses and individuals alike.
You have 2 choices, you can either register for VAT in all 28 member states and file 28 different VAT returns every 30 day - 1 year depending on the regulation of that member state.... or ..... you register for the MOSS system while you still have to keep separate accounts for all 28 member states you can charge at 1 standard rate and do your submissions through 1 online portal.
In order to use the MOSS system you must first be VAT registered yourself.
There is no threshold i.e. you can take €50,000 before this is applicable.
This also apples to businesses operating in countries outside of the EU who want to sell to business and individuals within the EU (host gator for example will have to collect the VAT for customers who are from the UK or any other EU member state, and they are actively complying with this)
Having spoke to a few people who live in countries with strict VAT laws anyway they do not see this as a huge issue, personally I think it is a real nightmare situation but it will simply be considered VAT Fraud not to comply.(Which is jail-able)
It has not been well publicized in my opinion and will catch a HELL of a lot of companies out come April when they start asking for the VAT you should have collected.
And yes every part of hosting inc IAAS/SAAS is covered (I called and asked)

Hi!
I will recieve around 2 to 3 TB of files soon and would like to have a server/service in where I can store them like it is my own windows harddrive, I think that this is called webdav? - it must be accessable as an harddisk in my pc (that i can select it as storage device in an application.)
My budget is 50 euros/m and traffic prefferly unmetered - as location the EU is preffered.
It would be really great if one of you knows a service/provider that provides this.
Thank you!
Hi guys I hope you can help me.
I bought a domain from setupvps.com which then vanished last month. I have been trying to transfer my domain to a reliable provider but I don't no where to start since I cant get the domain unlocked. Anyone got any ideas or a domain provider that can help me out?
Thanks Eoghan.
Does anyone have experience with either a free programmable DNS service or an easy to use programmable DNS software? Some searching online brought me to Atomia DNS, but I don't know much about it.
I have a good number of domain names that I'd rather not manually enter and manager into my DNS service if I can help it.
we started with some online businesses and keep growing and growing, and i am looking for some open source software to keep track of goods coming in and going out of our warehouse, if possible running on a lowend vps. Does anyone have a suggestion for some opensource software, that works with simple handheld barcode scanners. I know this is not the best place to ask, but i know there are a lot of users here with a lot of knowledge, so maybe aomeone has a good suggestion
Amazon is rebooting all their VM's, Xen has an embargo'd security issue: http://ift.tt/WaHR4G (XSA-108) and it will be public on October 1st.
I wonder what it is, and why it is so serious. Might be a hypervisor exploit, or cross-vm access or something. Probably not the bash bug.
I expect a lot of LET providers will be affected by this.
Anybody with inside info?
Hi! I'm auctioning an aged domain with google apps 500 user licenses.
Please don't mention domain name in post. Thank you and good luck! :)
I'm a Chinese webmaster . As we all know , the American VPS is the cheapest in the world . I am looking for a cheap and reliable VPS for my website . The price is under $15 . RAM : 2GB ; CPU : 2cores ; KVM . Can you help me ? Thank you !
I know , 1 month doesnt make much sense for a review but it matters
Network
Very awesome network ( I must repeat that again and again )
Uptime
Uptime was flawless not even a single min of downtime was observed.
Hardware
Hardware was/always/will be top notch.
Support
Okay their support is good. ( unless you need managing your server it will cost you a $150 per hour billed in 30min increments )
Price
Haven't seen anyone else providing upto their mark they've got quality and price leveled out.
Now basically my conclusion is , If you're a pro and can manage your server without need of support ( other than hardware / network ) related issues I'd recommend them.
Mr. Harry-> Yea i agree he gets pissed off at times but he sure can be a gentleman ( if you apologise dont piss him further ) He's always there to take up the responsibility.
Oh btw they do have DDOS protection real cheap @ $50 per /29 block ( mayb they will discount if you wanna order for a whole block.
Hey All,
I have a 3-node MariaDB Galera cluster that's running on a Delimiter dedicated server and two 6GB RAM HostUS VPSes (on different physical servers). The cluster relies on consensus voting/quorum, so for the cluster to work, at least two nodes must be alive and well. To avoid split-brain, the cluster refuses to function as soon as two of the three nodes are down.
Anyway, to keep the story short, while HostUS is pretty good overall, I just hit this problem now, and my apps died as a result. My two VPSes are still down as we speak.
Before you ask "did you file a ticket?", I'd like to first say that this isn't a HostUS complaint. This is me wanting to become more robust, and have another VPS in the mix to help me maintain quorum.
In short, if you have any good high-RAM offers in Atlanta, I'm all ears. I really would like low latency to both Delimiter and HostUS; Galera is sensitive to that. If anyone could match the HostUS offer, that'd be ideal, but not required.

Hanging around / lurking here has been an interesting experience and has opened my eyes to how I could have been saving money with my hosting compared to what I've been paying Linode these last few years.
Right now I'm torn between getting an ultra cheap VPS or using a Dedicated box, the lure of both is incredibly strong and the more I sit and look at it and compare the offers of the various VPS deals, the harder it is to make a choice. I was building a spreadsheet for myself of all my options and its become quickly overwhelming :)
The original idea was to simply save money. Why pay Linode $360 a year to host a website/rarely updated blog and email server when I could get a cheap monthly / yearly deal from the adverts here? Then I started discovering the high HD options like VPSDime Stroage VPS & the Dedibox XC from Online.net which opened up the thought that I could finally have an online backup of bits of my data (like 10 years of digital photos, bought books & comics and other stuff) that I could access as needed.
I actually spent the last few days building up a spreadsheet of various deals and every time I look at it I feel no closer to making a decision.
I could continue with the Dedibox from Online.net, not save any money (actually pay a little more) but have a box that is well and truly mine. I don't need to worry about CPU or Ram usage. However I would still want to VPN into the UK occasionally, so I would need to get one of DireVPS's offers.
Or I could be super cheap and use one of many cheap VPS's like Rootnerds (I am trying out the myXXXL plan, great box but slow link compared to VPSDime/XVMLabs, Online.net) or DireVPS, Ramnode, Kihi Hosting, VMBox, MyCustomHosting, GreenValueBox, Crissic(?) and so on.
Or I could go kind of in the middle with something like VPSDime's Storage VPS, assuming they come back in stock :), and pay $7-14 a month for lots of storage and being able to host stuff too. Though once I get up to paying $14 a month, the whole "well if you pay a little more, you have this box all to yourself with that Dedibox" and then I go through it all again.
So yeah, I'm super thankful that LET exists and for it opening my eyes to new possibilities, but dang has it left me in a quandary :)
By the looks of it they are announcing the free ssl on monday. If its not that I don't know what it could be, though I do know I can't log into my account because of a database error :)
Any one have online.net promo server for sale can pm me the price and i want to buy...
I know these can not be transferred but i want to buy with email so that i will manage it using the same email and i will pay for your email too...
Thnx
Tried everything posted in this thread http://ift.tt/Lav4tJ

Hello, I am planning to create a web based proxy site and a wordpress based site. Both of these sites will be new, so there will be not much traffic at start. For this purpose i need a reliable VPS. I like to pay yearly and my budget is $15/year . Any suggesstions about provider or specs that will suite my requirement ?
I need OpenVZ box with 128MB Ram. no need many more resources because I'm going to using it for PPTP VPN. 1 IPv4 is enough. need to support TUN/TAP. reasonable bandwidth & disk space is great. looking for only two months. give me you'r best offers :)
Thanks !
My NL7 server with iniz.com shows offline. Anyone having same problem with NL7 node?
So, I just bought a plan from GVH, and I thought I'd share my experiences (as if there aren't enough reviews about GVH already)
So, everything that follows is exactly what has happened since I paid for the VPS with my PayPal.
At 9:21PM EST 9/28/14 I paid for the VPS with PayPal. Although there was "Instant Activation", it didn't quite work and it was manually activated around 9:23PM.
At 9:33PM, I came back to find it activated, but the client panel was down. It came back up at 9:37PM.
At 9:42PM, I logged onto the VPS to find it very unresponsive, and apparently using all 10GB of RAM
After a few minutes, RAM usage settled down to 46mb. I never found out what was causing that spike.
Interestingly enough, running "cat /proc/cpuinfo" brings up 24 CPU cores, but each at 333.500 MHz
At this point in time, the control panel and SolusVM is still unresponsive, but the VPS is fast enough.
[Reserved for a VPS test script result]
So apparently there is a Xen security vulnerability to be announced on 1 Oct. Amazon and Rackspace, among others, have been preimformed and have been responding and forcing reboots of large numbers of instances/servers.
As a LEB user, should I just wait until XEN announces on Oct. 1 or is there something else to be done?

Hello Can anyone please provide me with a vmx or smx enabled vps for hosting my own vm's? I would like to say I would only need a kvm or xen hvm(whichever platform allows exposing vmx or smx to the vm) with 2gb ram, unmetered bandwidth(of course we can negotiate this in private via pm), 100gb disk and well just the basic requirement above where vmx or smx extension(whatever processor you have either intel or amd) exposed to my vps. Note this is for my personal usage only, no one else is going to use the vm's I create on this vps but me(So to potential hosts asking about this, don't worry about someone using my vm's to send spam, will not happen, as I will be the only one using them, and I can guarantee you I won't send spam or anything of that nature through the vm's on my vps or even through the vps itself.) 4-5ipv4 would be fine. and would like it to be yearly priced on payment. please any potential hosts please contact me via pm, not in a comment in this thread please as I would like to keep business matters private between me and the potential hosts involved(I want to do it this way so we can keep our business and what we are working on private as it should always be when you are talking to a host or anyone when doing business.)
Hello, i have one server in france, It is I7 (4c/8t@3,6Ghz), 32gb ram, 120gb ssd (Samsung 840 evo), 250mbit/s line. 1IP
It will be working next aprox. 10 days. I can offer it for $10 paypal for anyone who want to test it or do some tasks on it. im not sure how to use it, i dont need it
currently Debian 64bit on it,c an isntall any other by choice
Seriously.
Their panel was nice looking and functional. Many features and then they switched to Ubersmith. I can't find any info (not even my server's IP address), can't manage the VPS at all.
I seriously can't understand why they did this move.
Is anyone else pissed with this?
Sitemeer just underwent a major overhaul and got a long-requested feature added: Multi-Location Checks
Up until now Sitemeer sent its test requests from only one location. Now it will do so from a number of geographically diverse locations. The feature is not fully live yet but can be previewed at http://ift.tt/1qL7el0
Please do share your impressions and please keep in mind it's still in beta, so a thing or two might be quirky.
Hello, my LES Italy VPS has been unreachable via IPV6 from most part of the world (17 of 25 of the cloudflare colos). I reported this on the forum but nothing has changed. I'm not sure what to do, I understand the price and that it comes with "little support" (as written on their site) but shouldn't at least support take care of things if customers can't reach the service?
My question is: who should I contact to let them notice?

Hello Lowenders,
Since I'm no longer pursuing a career in IT, causing my time spent on IT-related things to become close to zero. Now that I'm not longer doing that and am a student once more, I need more money and less domains. I have the following to offer:
A domain with 100 Google Apps licenses.
If you're unfamiliar with these offerings, Google Apps was once free for people with a domain. The first few got a million licenses, then it drooped down to just a few per domain. I managed to find this domain with 100 licenses with Perl and luck. You don't have to use this domain itself for email, you can add other domains to use Google apps with that. (Eg, add threelittlepiggiesandabigboycalleddave.com to the domains list, create some users and you're rocking Google Apps. For free!*)
I accept Paypal. Bids are from $7, bidding ends October at 18:00:00 UTC. (I might reply somewhat later.)
I hope someone will help me out.
*Except the domain renewal fee of course
There is no CoreOS template in their list. Has anybody tested/used CoreOS on KVM under Virtualizor?
I have 30+ wordpress websites that I want to host at a cheap single place. Should I get a shared hosting that will allow me to host this many domains and databases OR should I get an unmnaged VPS and nginx the hell out of it?
I have also heard that some hosts allow mysql offloading? Since I will be using a lot of mysql, please suggest the best options one can have?
VULTR.com is still not one year old yet, but I have been with them since they soft launched their service, and I have to say that they just get better and better for each month. I have now been with them for over 7 months, and here is my updated review of them.
Please use my affiliate link if you are thinking about signing up, keeps my site running without any ads. http://ift.tt/1p8MW6D
Product/hardware/price
VULTR offer KVM cloud instances with SSD storage (like DigitalOcean), so you only get some cloud features like hourly billing, quick deployment, many locations etc. Since my last review they have added features such as, Ipv6 (beta), Private Network, Startup scripts, SSH keys, and they have launched two more locations
VULTR similar plans like DigitalOcean, but they have increased their smallest plan from 512 MB RAM to 768 MB of RAM, a 50% increase for the same price as DO charge.
They also charge $3/mo less for the 1 GB plan, and $5/mo less for their 2 GB plan.
As you can see VULTR now has 14 locations online, thats three times more locations then DigtalOcean has.
VULTR guarantee more then 3 GHz CPUs on all their plans (except their storage plans in NY), so you get fast CPU power on all servers. They offer SSD storage as standard and you get speeds like 3-460 MB/s.
Their hardware seems solid, and using CentOS 6.5 and Virtualmin gives me a really good result. The servers (both France and Netherlands) works really fast.
You deploy new servers within minutes depending on what location you are deploying in. It’s really simple as you can see in the picture over, you only select locations, package, and OS, then your server is online.
They have also launched there Multi core series with 8 or 12 cores and on my Benchmark test on their 8 core serve (the 12 core was not online) I got a result of 5918.9, thats insane high. (![](see my Top20 list))
Service/Support
Their service is still pretty good. And their support pretty fast.
Since I have been a BETA tester for several of the new features, I have had lots of contact with their support staff, and it’s seems like they have several support staff working for them, and they seems pretty knowledgeable.
Benchmark
Their new multi core series 8 core 16 GB RAM server in New York. Taking the 2.place on my Top20 list.
And their normal (performance series) 2 core 2 GB RAM server:
Network/uptime
Vultr has good speeds on their servers, and now they have finally fixed the network speed in the Netherlands, so you get 1 Gbit there also.
There was a network issue on my France server some days ago. I had 100% uptime last 80 days or so, but now the uptime is 99.977% on that server.
On my Netherlands node, that is around 90 days old, I have 99.977% uptime. And on my London server, I have 100% uptime.
Conclusion
If you need a host that can offers lots of locations, rapid deployment and hourly billing, take a look at VULTR.com. They have kept their promise to add lots more features and locations, and they still have more to come. Their servers and networks works really good, with fast servers, and high uptime.
Giving VULTR 9 of 10 points this time. They are getting better and better, and I’m looking forward to see how good they will be in the future.

It’s now 7 months since I signup with DigitalOcean, and I have to say that I do not regret at all. Their service has been really great, their servers works perfect (I’m using their AMS1 and NY2 DC), their network has 99.989% uptime last 7 months, so everything is just perfect.
In my last review I mention that DO maybe would launch a UK datacenter, and now they have. They have also added a new DC in the Netherlands, AMS3. So two new data centers the last 4 months.

Product/hardware/price
DigitalOcean is not really a cloud host, but they offer cloud features like pay by the hour, snapshots, templates, quick deployment, use your credit to create lots of servers, backups, several locations etc. But still, you get a “normal” KVM server. They have no High Availability, no Fail-Over, no Own ISO, no External Firewall with GUI etc like iwStack do.
But still, they have a really good product. It’s super simple to create new droplets, it takes only around 55 seconds before it is online (you get the root password on e-mail). In fact, it only takes around 55 seconds to create a 64 GB RAM, 640 GB SSD disk, 20vCore KVM server! What other host let you do that?
Their prices starts at $5/mo or $0.007/hour. You pay for what you use, and they do only bill by the hour. But they do charge you 100% regardless of your servers is turned on or off. Still, you can create a template, and delete your server, then recreate it later on when you need it, without paying for it. Unlike iwStack.com, they do not charge for template disk space.
I’m normally using a 512 MB RAM , 20 GB disk. 1 TB BW, 1vCore server on their AMS1 DC, paying $5/mo for it. So most of my review is based on this server, with the uptime. But I have done my benchmark test on a 64 GB droplet.
Service/Support
The first (and only) time I used their support so far, it was a mixed experience. I asked them some really short and clear questions, and got BS replies back. But I had stumbled on a little “trade” secret, that the normal support guy did not know (or wanted to reply on). I did not understand why I could not get any reply, after I had repeated my self for the third time. I then tweeted about this issue, and then it took under 10 minutes before I got a reply, both on twitter and on my support ticket. This time from a Support Specialist. I got a really good explanation on my question, and as a really nice thing I got a credit on my account.
I think this is a excellent proof of a good host. I could easily been a situation there I had been very unhappy, just getting strange replies on my ticket, but it was solved very fast. And with a very good outcome for me. :D
Their response time on “normal” support tickets is around 14 minutes average from my tickets.
Benchmark
The first test is with a 16 GB 8vCore server, and I got a UnixBench result of 2844. I did then run a test on a 64 GB 20vCore server in their new London DC, and the result was: 4927 points. It currently holds the 3.place on my Top20 list.
I get an average of 445 MB/S on my DD test, and thats not so impressive since they offer pure SSD disks on the nodes. Still, 445 MB/s is not bad, but it’s not Ramnode speeds either. I have seen DO speeds up to over 700 MB/s but I’m sure that was on low load nodes.
Network/uptime
My monitoring services tells me that I have a 99.914% uptime the last 30 days with 1 minute monitors. I’m using their AMS1 location for my test server. They had some hardware issue with the node I’m on, thats the reason for the downtime this month.
Conclusion
DigitalOcean is not a complete cloud host, it lack some cloud features like HA, fail-over, firewall etc, but it still is a really good host. Servers is deployed within one minute, you can choose from several locations, templates etc. You can create templates and backups that you can transfer from EU to US and vica versa.
Their servers is really good, you can resize your servers with one click, and their uptime is really good. (the best).
They expands, and thats a good thing. Their new London location and their new AMS3 location in the Netherlands is up an running.
