Gitlab Memory Usage + GOGS

Currently Gitlab seems to be having some trouble fitting in 1GB of RAM.

Memory usage:

         total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached

Mem: 988 933 54 3 6 133

-/+ buffers/cache: 794 194

Swap: 1023 225 798

I've been contemplating migrating to GOGS since I would be paying double for a 2G VM ($10)

For those who have migrated from Gitlab to GOGS, how was the experience?

Side note:

Also accepting offers for the following specs that have GRE modules loaded (the only reason why this is expensive is because I wanted to use Xen/KVM for a DDOS-protected GRE tunnel, but I will be happy to accept offers with a GRE-enabled OpenVZ)
