Looking to host a website, but I need a DDoS protected VPS.
Is OVH any good?
I heard Ramnode does it but do they protect all kinds of DDoS attacks?
I posted a thread, that may cause someone misunderstood, I need a cheap win vps to mine, but not use CPU or GPU, I need it to upload and download, so I need 1GB port and maybe 2TB-5TB bandwidth. Thanks for your advice in advance

Hi,
I have a big ram vps with a well renowned host here, I just started utilizing it recently though I have had it for almost half an year now.
I have worked with multiple vps for over a decade now but this is the first time I have come across this situation. In the last week alone I have had over 40 outages, usually lasting from few seconds to a minute. I get down alert sms/emails daily, i have checked it from multiple sources , the network goes down for everybody not a particular isp. Its more of an annoying nuisance than a real problem because the downtime is not long. Whats weird is, it somehow just gets severe when I am accessing the server or uploading files :s
I discussed it with the provider and they said that the uptime was still above 99% and they didnt offer any SLA/uptime guarantee . They are right with the uptime %.
Is this acceptable ? I have vps from almost every provider on LET, they do have downtime but of a different nature usually for rare updates or hardware problems but the frequency is not this high !
So I was looking through the ovh lineup and I was interested in the 2014 SP-64 series. However, there is a $128 setup fee. However, the 2013 enterprise line is the same price but without the setup fee ($109). The 2013 has the older generation e5-1620 while the SP-64 has the newer e5-1620v2. What do you guys think? Should I just go with the newer one or is it not worth the $128 setup fee?
Hi guys, could you advice me some cheap win vps to run mine digging? Ths a lot
I just checked online.net site and they have new storage servers.
The overview link for the english site isn't working : http://ift.tt/1vpUtQ6 (it's working for the french version)
But the individual pages are available:
Just submitted my cancellation to GVH, you have no idea how good that feels.
My LA4 (QuadraNet) node hosted VPS has been up and down like a yo-yo according to my monitoring on the past few days, so happy that I bit the bullet and moved over to RamNode who have not missed one monitoring ping since I got my Seattle-based VPS built and online. @Nick_A was extremely accommodating in upgrading my existing service to a higher level and then re-provisioning it from Amsterdam to Seattle.
The strange thing is that I submitted the cancellations and the latest "Dear Valued Client" email came through. Consolidation back to ColoCrossing wherever available was no shock, but IPv6 is no longer available at all across the GVH offerings. Well, that just validated my decision!
Goodbye Jon, thanks for all the fish.
I am running cPanel and using domain monsters DNS and setting up each domain manually or would I be better of running 2 other VPSes with cPanel DNS Only as DNS 1 & DNS2 for NS1 & NS2?
Most of all have used Squid3 as Regular Proxy Server. But try "Squid3" as Cache Server.
Highly effective if people browsing same site or accessing same data in same network.

Just bought a VPS.
I was supposed to get 512mb ram but I got 8TB ram instead which isn't physically possible.
But I get segmentation fault when I try to install stuff.
Yes I opened a support ticket to have the ram fixed. But why do I get segmentation faults?
In modern days you can record every bit of information every time. I'd be interested in what you log and how you are then visualizing/using it?
Examples:
Please do not discuss here, that this is all useless. I know it is just as useless as buying 10 LEBs you then don't use ;)
Quoting Dynamoo's Blog:
The nameservers for the following dynamic DNS domains belonging to no-ip.com may have been seized by Microsoft as the namesevers are pointing to NS7.MICROSOFTINTERNETSAFETY.NET and NS8.MICROSOFTINTERNETSAFETY.NET
This seems to have had the effect of taking down any sites using these dynamic DNS services. This will probably impact a lot of things like webcams, home security systems, personal VPNs any anything else that uses these domains.

Looking for BlueVM staff.
Node s19-ny has been down for over 10h and the ticket system (also irc) seems unresponsive, I can't receive update from it.
Please fix it. Thanks.
I need two VPS reseller accounts, one in the US and another in the EU.
A CC provider would do in the US, I seen HVH, not sure if CVPS still do one, but don't know any in the EU, suggestions?
Preferably delivered via solusvm
hi all im wanting to get hold of 2 vps to purely act as name servers. 128MB Ram/256MB Ram will do with 10GB-20GB Disk Space 100mbit port is prob more than enough looking to spend no more than $20-30 for the year
if i could get one in us and one in europe that be great but no worries if not
would anyone be able to accommodate this?
Afternoon everyone
I am after a cheap dedi to test and application I am building, I only need something cheap as I wont be taxing anything but will be running a couple of xen instances.
Looking for something like 4gb RAM, 4 Useable IP's, 80Gb HDD.
Looking to pay around £15 a month if possible, CPU doesnt have to be brilliant, but good enough for the instances!
What can people offer?
And not a managed service (just help to setup branded nameservers [not vanity] and the privately issued SSL from the register), otherwise I'll self-manage everything else afterwards.
Requirements:
In business for over a year. No kiddie hosts (zero patience with YOLO mindsets in business).
KVM type (full control). 2GB+ dedicated memory for main server. 25GB+ disk space. 1Gbps port. Reasonable I/O and burst. 1 dedicated IPv4 for SSL. At least 4 IPv6s. 2TB+ bandwidth. Stable network/uptime.
At the minimum it's 1x2GB KVM and 2x128MB+ distributed servers for DNS.
Looking for package deals.
Available to buy tomorrow.
Hi,
Im looking for provider low price like as OVH US. Someone help me.
Regards,
Just testing the waters here, for this LowEndSpirit-like offer. Would you be interested in buying:
I will not be making any money with this offer (that's why can't afford PayPal chargebacks) and need to sell 56 to break even. Please vote.
Hello,
For many years i've been using a domain registar that protects my whois privacy by replacing my registrant informations with their own. Recently I registered a new .com domain and now a week later I get this email:

Does this mean that Whois Privacy isn't allowed on .com domains anymore? i'm not sure why out of sudden this appears to be a problem.
Thanks.
I have one domain name registered in vindhosting.com, but last year, seems like they just abandoned their business. I can't transfer out my domain name from them, because they are hiding WHOIS data and i can't change WHOIS data by myself. I've tried contactin internetbs.net support, but they can't do anything, so useless. What else i can do?
Just having a bit of a rant.. but still.. thought it was relevant to here..
seriously just wondering.. what happened to the REAL Low end boxes.. These days it seems to be all about the most you can get for under $7. what if people only do want the ol' < 128mb vps' with 2gb space etc? like i do know that it isn't 2008 anymore but i do miss seeing these offers...
That's why i applaud @AnthonySmith and @Oliver for their work on Lowendspirit (Oliver only recently) but i am sure im not the only one that likes seeing offers like this...
In all Honesty (and i don't mean flood the market) but.. in the case of LES.
3€ x 256
-----------------
=768 €
-----------------
768 / 12
-----------------
=64 € /m ($88/m)
-----------------
Now, seriously how many Dedicated Servers can you find for less then $90 a month?.. i can list 100 off the top of my head.
Yes i do know that time isn't free but i see it as if you want to do something with the community and get a EXCELLENT Reputation like the LES Crew. I'm not saying Everyone Copy LES but.... instead of seeing 8 Core, 16GB RAM, 500GB HDD unmetered 10gbit offers for $7 why not see more of the LOW end stuff again..

Google Chrome (stable) does not fully recognise .uk TLD hosted sites as a fully-qualified domain name so simply refuses to verify the certificate.
Looking for the cheapest .in domain registration, maybe with free privacy.
I use the following iptables setting on my dedicated server. If I install the OpenVZ kernel, and run the same tables below for host machine, the host machine can no longer resolve dns.
I am trying to run 1 host with 2 openvz containers (each with their own ip address) for private use. I want the host and containers to have their own ip tables. Your help is appreciated.
iptables -F
Allow all loopback (lo0) traffic and drop all traffic to 127/8 that doesn't use lo0
iptables -A INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -d 127.0.0.0/8 -j REJECT
Accept all established inbound connections
iptables -A INPUT -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT
Allow all outbound traffic - you can modify this to only allow certain traffic
iptables -A OUTPUT -j ACCEPT
Allow HTTP and HTTPS connections from anywhere (the normal ports for websites and SSL).
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 443 -j ACCEPT
Allow SSH connections
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
add some custom ports that need to be opened
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 17711 -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 17712 -j ACCEPT
Allow ping
iptables -A INPUT -p icmp -m icmp --icmp-type 8 -j ACCEPT
Log iptables denied calls
iptables -A INPUT -m limit --limit 5/min -j LOG --log-prefix "iptables denied: " --log-level 7
Reject all other inbound - default deny unless explicitly allowed policy
with the openvz kernel, the following line blocks all outbound traffic from host
iptables -A INPUT -j REJECT iptables -A FORWARD -j REJECT
ONLY on OpenVZ Head Node This allows access to OpenVZ Containers
iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT iptables -F FORWARD
echo "*** outputting the iptables settings before restart " iptables -L -n iptables-save | tee /etc/sysconfig/iptables
echo "*** restarting iptables " service iptables restart
echo "*** outputting the iptables settings after restart " iptables -L -n

Hey,
As the title,i know most of providers don't support run L2TP(IPSEC) in a OpenVZ VPS,but a few providers did like BuyVM.
I want to know how to do that?
Thank you.

Any easy way and human-readable to generate traffic reports ? I have some VMs that are generating a lot of traffic and don't know what is it.
I tried ntop but I don't get it .... and also in some servers if just breaks and some graphs I don't understand ....
I would like someting very easy and practical.
Thank you :)
So today I noticed one of my Servers were constantly timing out so I decided to log into it
Here is a screen shot of the **last **command
I was surprised to see a strange IP, 122.81.131.109
Turns out its' from China http://ift.tt/1ogGBXg
the cpe788 logins are me.
Guess what, who ever hacked the VPS was using it for DDOS attacks for the past few days, I'm now 17TB over my quota.
As far as I can tell, theres a file called b26 in /root, if anyone wants a copy I have put a copy here http://ift.tt/1ogGDi4
Thanks a lot hacker.
I recently acquired a new vps from them, I already owned others in the past and never had problems, the thing is I currently have 2 vps from them and they are offline for almost a week. Before that, they usually were offline most of the time, I had to go to the solusvm and boot them 2 or 3 times a day. Now they are just offline, and I can't boot them anymore from the panel.
Sent several support tickets and none got a reply. They just end up closed.
If so can you please add them to the deadpool. If they keep selling services they are pretty much becoming a scam, accepting money with no service in return.
Simply for a very small mail server, prob less than a few emails each day and to run up to, two websites from.
Budget not too much of an issue but as it's for personal use only I'm keen to keep costs down.
I'm refining my search for a VPS (other thread was too specific).
Looking for a low end:
20GB+ SSD/HDD, 10TB+ bandwidth or unmetered, 100mbps dedicated port
thank you.
Are there any uptime monitoring tools(self-hosted) that can do testing from multiple locations? Basically 1 server that aggregates all the data and an unlimited amount of nodes around the world that do testing of URLs configured on the server. If one of the nodes fails the server registers the downtime even if nodes in other locations report that everything is ok.
Basically im trying to monitor a CDN.
Hi, I'm looking for a deal similar to this but hosted in Europe. KVM is preferred but will accept OpenVZ if the price is right, and a good ping to the UK is ideal:

Its more of an annoying nuisance than a real problem because the downtime is not long. Whats weird is, it somehow just gets severe when I am accessing the server or uploading files :s
I discussed it with the provider and they said that the uptime was still above 99% and they didnt offer any SLA/uptime guarantee . They are right with the uptime %.
Is this acceptable ? I have vps from almost every provider on LET, they do have downtime but of a different nature usually for rare updates or hardware problems but the frequency is not this high !
hi folks
i just noticed that GVH is banned here as well as at the other places, any idea why?
Hi folks,
today I want to write a little review about my little 128MB UK located XEN box by OnePoundWebhosting.co.uk. I've been using their monitoring service for half a year now and bought this VPS 2 months ago.
Specs:
128MB RAM
256MB SWAP
1 x vCPU Core
15GB Disk Space
100GB Bandwidth
for 1£/month paid yearly
Uptime:
Currently, I have 40 days uptime, because I restarted the VPS. But I didn't face any downtime with my 1 minute checks from 9 locations.
Network:
Here is a benchmark from the network. I can only say that I didn't face any problems. CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40GHz Number of cores : 1 CPU frequency : 3400.154 MHz Total amount of ram : 121 MB Total amount of swap : 255 MB System uptime : 39 days, 23:08, Download speed from CacheFly: 38.1MB/s Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 10.9MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 11.3MB/s Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 4.22MB/s Download speed from i3d.net, Rotterdam, NL: 54.5MB/s Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 44.4MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 4.67MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Seattle, WA: 13.2MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, San Jose, CA: 11.2MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Washington, DC: 23.1MB/s I/O speed : 94.5 MB/s
Support:
Stuart is always a friendly person and gives his best to provide his customers an awesome service. Mostly, he answered in 10-15 minutes, and if not he always answered within 2 hours.
Conclusion:
I'm really satisfied with my VPS. 1£ for an UK XEN based VPS isn't much money, but you will get an rock solid box with great uptime and friendly support. I currently use this VPS as private webserver and it works like a charm :)
Hello, sorry to ask this, but I am searching for dirty cheap colo. I know that VD offers colo starting at $20 and I wonder if you know other companies with the price range between 20-25 dollars for 1U blade ?
Hey LET,
So for the last 18 months or so at VPN.sh we've been mainly running a service where you get access to a bunch of locations and share your IP with other clients. We briefly offered dedicated IP's in the UK, but had to pull them after a few months unfortunately.
Today we're announcing the option to get hold of a VPN with a dedicated IP in either Dallas, Seattle or New York for as little as £10/year!
Services are manually provisioned, so there's a 24 hour setup time on this - and we're just having some tweaks on our New York network, so any orders there will be activated on Tuesday.
This service runs on OpenVPN, and ports can be opened within the client area.
The pricing for this is very limited, and once we're sold out, new stock will be at a higher pricing. The pricing here is purely for the introductory offer that we're putting out today, as it's not even advertised on our website just yet.
Package Information:
Seattle: 750GB/month bandwidth - £10/year - Order Now
New York: 750GB/month bandwidth - £10/year - Order Now
Dallas: 1TB/month bandwidth - £12/year - Order Now
Payment Information:
We accept both PayPal and Bitcoin
If you have any questions, or would like a custom plan based upon your bandwidth requirements, feel free to send me a PM.
Thanks, Liam
Seems like Cloudflare is having some issues here

Anyone else noticing this?
Hi, I have an issue with a one of the OpenVZ hardware node I wanted to use for my personal stuff, I have setup HW node in past and also in their container had successfully installed CSF firewall.
But this particular node is giving me problem (centos 6.5).. on its containers running CentOS giving following error if I try to run csftest.pl :
Inside CT

I have already added modules list in /etc/vz/vz.conf as :
IPTABLES="ipt_REJECT ipt_tos ipt_TOS ipt_LOG ip_conntrack ipt_limit ipt_multiport iptable_filter iptable_mangle ipt_TCPMSS ipt_tcpmss ipt_ttl ipt_length ipt_state iptable_nat ip_nat_ftp"
I have done this in past on other nodes and essentially it just takes making sure required mod is loaded on HW node and then entries in vz.conf
But this time its not working, I have open vz 2.6.32-042stab090.2 kernel
Have set cat /etc/modprobe.d/openvz.conf
options nf_conntrack ip_conntrack_disable_ve0=0
So that all modules are enabled by default...
Now whats missing ?
Hi everyone,
Quick news from the hard working folks at XVM Labs:
1024 MB DDR3 ECC RAM
15 GB SSD RAID-10
300 GB Bandwidth on GigE
Platform: OpenVZ + KiwiVM
DC: QuadraNet (Los Angeles)
1 IPv4 (max. 4 IPv4)
$9.87 per year
Enjoy!
FYI: I've been using reversehosts.com for a little over a year, and despite a few hiccups, have been pretty satisfied. However on Tuesday morning one of my servers disconnected from the Internet (the server is up through serial console, it looks like the virtual network interface is disconnected - a seemingly simple fix). I've submitted multiple tickets and got 1 response 2 days ago, stating that they didn't see a problem (Although the problem is pretty easy to spot - a simple ping from the root console of the VM shows it has no network connectivity, ifconfig returns nothing).
Twitter suggest this isn't an isolated incident - a tweet from 6 days ago shows a server down for 3 days (at that time). My other servers are up and running fine (even on the same node), however with no communication (other than 1 "it's all fine" reply), this is markedly different from their communication/responsiveness levels in the past, and disturbing to see.
Until we get confirmation that they're healthy and available, you might want to avoid their services.
Jon.
Looking for BlueVM staff.
Node s19-ny has been down for over 10h and the ticket system (also irc) seems unresponsive, I can't receive update from it.
Please fix it. Thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Why are prices so low?
- We own all our hardware and network equipment in all locations thus decreasing our monthly costs massively, as a result we are able to provide outstanding value and enterprise solutions.
All our nodes are powered by the latest CPUs, SSD Caching & Enterprise Hard Drives giving us the edge over our competitors massively and exceeding clients expectations.
Is there an control panel?
- Manage all your virtual machines from one panel, where you have the ability to reinstall on the fly and view your current usage.
- You have complete control over your VPS with full root access and ability to view historical graphs for load (OpenVZ), bandwidth and HDD activity (KVM). Clients with OpenVZ VMs can set Reverse DNS, reinstall within minutes with pre-made templates and enable TUN/TAP/PPP straight from the control panel if they wish to setup VPN. With our KVM range, you get full virtualisation allowing to install your own kernels and partitioning as well as encrypting your drives.
Is the server Managed?
- At this price it would be unrealistic to offer management, so all services sold are unmanaged. However if you need some quick help, don't be shy to ask. Our friendly support will be available to help you with your queries.
Do you have an refund policy?
- We offer no questions asked full refund on your first service with INIZ if requested within 5 days from making your payment
What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept Bitcoins, Paypal & Debit/Credit Card Payments

Hey,
I need a new KVM/OpenVZ for a cpu insentive Gameserver, means 40-60% CPU use for about 12 Hours as usually when the Gameserver is active.
Atm i pay 2EUR and 3Month billing cycle so make me an offer (need 384MB+, 500GB+, 1CPU, 10GB HDD+) and we got never hit by any DDOS.
Ps: I know its cheap so just make me offers i can raise my budget.
I have build a VPN server(using http://ift.tt/1vjZkSN) in my vps (debian 7 X64), but when I try to link it, it come out ERROR . please help me solve it, and please give the command code.
THANK YOU.
Hi everyone. Im having an odd problem that i have never come across before but im a noob so maybe that explains it. My problem at the moment is that i cannot reach it. I cannot access my websites, cannot login through my shell. But however, i can login to my vePortal management system of my vps. I can reboot the vps, see what processes are running, and in there everything seems normal. Im starting to think that my only solution is to reinstall the OS but i would like to be able to reach my backups onthe server, but i cannot get them because i cannot login.. anyone came across this before? Much appreciated. Thanks
Hello!
I need colocation for 1-2 racks in US.
http://lowendtalk.com is better than vpsboard which is surprising to me i do not sell any cc services but i get treated better here than vpsboard.
eg: posting offers etc and in general a nicer experience from the staff.
Just want to say thank you lowendtalk you guys are good! : )
I need to know Who is the Trusted VPS seller? Downtime, CS Service, Etc..
Anyone knows where I can BUY multiple (4~5 certs) wildcard alphassls with an affordable price (maybe $2~10/y)?
LunaNode stopped offering ssl and VMBox is offering one per vps.
Hello all!
I'm searching for a VPS (or dedi) with 6+ GB of RAM and 100+ GB disk, any bandwidth, 5+ IPv4 addresses, and ipv6 support. The provider must have at least 1 location in USA and 1 location outside USA. My budget is under $40/month.
Please reply below with your suggestions.
Thanx
So currently I have a OVH Classic VPS (25GB space one) for my websites which occasionally goes down etc. I just got a KS-2 and I'm wondering if I should move my stuff over to Kimsufi, or to keep using the vps (which has worked since ovh launched it).
Can I get some input into this?
Thanks.
TL;DR: Which is better, OVH Classic VPS or Kimsufi for webhosting.
I am running cPanel and using domain monsters DNS and setting up each domain manually or would I be better of running 2 other VPSes with cPanel DNS Only as DNS 1 & DNS2 for NS1 & NS2?
Hi,
I was looking for a VPS located in East Asia or SE Asia with the following specs or better:
-1 cpu core
-65GB HDD
-512mb RAM
-500GB bandwidth
-linux
It's mostly for storage so nothing fancy needed. Unfortunately most of the plans I'm coming across are located in the US or EU.
Thanks
Hey,
Does anyone know any good Russia dedicated server providers? I've been looking but can't seem to find / know any good ones.
Comment below if you have any good ones in your head!
Thanks Shivam
Everywhere, I see..
OVH France Resellers Advertising their bulletproof and what not.
Which reminds me, France does have some laws in place..
Also here's what I'm talking about
This can't be possible as all those are illegal!
Today while browsing Facebook I came across a group where some one had shared a link containing domain promo offer.
Previously in june there is only $1.99 promo was active. now $1 is up again.
Register domain and after sixty days transfer it out to namesilo or namecheap.
Hey Guys,
I have a client who is on a 12 month lease with 5 months remaining. He wants to see if anybody was willing to take it over as his plans have changed, and now require a different setup of E5 servers instead. I have posted the server spec below:
E3-1230 v3 (4 x 3.40 GHz, 8MB Cache) 32GB DDR3 ECC RAM 2x 1TB HDD /29 IP Block (5 usable) 10TB Premium Bandwidth 1 Gbps Dedicated Port Secure VPN to KVM Over IP
$149.99/month
If anybody is willing to take it over from the user, I would be willing to extend a 10% discount as well if taking over 5 remaining months of lease. Please PM/Message for any information regarding this.
P.S. Mods I have posted this in the requests section. If it isn't allow just let me know.
So, I already have two VPS's from RamNode in different locations. I don't need any more VPS's but I can't stop collecting. x_x
I'll be picking one up regardless but was curious if anyone has used this location since I couldn't find any feed back.

I think my old host put me on a 10 Gbps port, because my new host gave me 1 Gbps Port and its 1/10th of it's speed. I also noticed fast I/O speed on my old host, which was not using SSD. Both are in California.
Am I obliged to tell my old host they may have given me a 10 Gbps port and SSD features, when they promised less? Or is it standard for host to sometimes give better performance than ordered? I am new comer so, not really sure what to do.
Weird though, I haven't logged onto my server for several hours and I didn't restart it, but it says 13:40 up time....
Yeah sure, I have better hardware at new host and location is same, but my websites load much much slower. Maybe it has to get to the new host, so I'll give it some time.
Very unfortunate as they were a good host in Switzerland. I received this email today.

Hello, I'm not the best in linux but I have my own little way of setting up my vps and would like to know if anyone might have any improvements over my setup. I only run a webserver on port 80. So what I do is turn off the ssh root login and set the max ssh failed passwords to 2 trys. But then I also have a port knocking system in iptables so lets say you have to knock port 6000 then 2222 before 3 seconds and then port 22 opens for the ssh connection to whoms ip knocked it open(for 5 seconds). I don't really want to use ssh keys, but I think my way is more then enough right? If someone does try to brute force it(after they find the port knocking) they only have 2 password attempts then get banned for 300 seconds.
Anyways. this is how I setup my debian 7 vps if anyone is curious. It's a vanilla security setup. I rather not use other programs like fail2ban.

###################################### NOW the firewall is setup and done
any criticism is welcome
I would like to split my Kimsufi up into separate OpenVZ containers so I can create different test environments and have a mess around with OpenVZ in general. I would also like to be able to allow a container to use a range of ports, or just allow it to use one port, and have a separate IPv6 address for each container.
Does anyone know a control panel that will let me do this, or I have to create each VPS in OpenVZ command line?
